As the title pretty much says, looking for a new TV series to watch. These are my two top options (I think). Any advise on which is better?

True Detective is only 8 episodes, but it's really great

both?

seriously just watch both as they are both fantastic

TD is only 1 season and HoC is only 2, so you could binge both this weekend if you are really determined

I'll let you know right now that you're going to watch both and like both. The only question is in what order. TD is more deep and brooding but both are mired in seediness.

True detective.

Based in Louisiana. McConaughey. Harrelson. What else could one ask for?

House of Cards because it will return sooner than true Detective. But honestly, watch both. They are both amazing programs.

Might as well start with True Detective since it won't take you more than 2 days

Ok, well I'll watch both lol. I had planned on watching both but will probably start with TD since I can knock it out faster. Thanks for the replies..

True Detective is better, but House of Cards was built to be binge watched. And I mean that literally.

I would do HoC so you are ready for when the new season drops in February.

I decided I'd try an episode of HoC and ended up watching both seasons in like 3 days. That shite is like crack.

If it's either/or, then True Detective (and it's not really close). Season 2 of HoC is a big drop-off IMO.

House of Cards was one of those shows that i literally could not help myself from starting the next episode after the last one ended

and that was still the case the 2 times i rewatched it
