Charles Schwab, are they good for setting up a retirement account (sep-Ira)?

I have a schwab account. I also have an Ameriprise financial adviser I've set up an sep-Ira through. I think I can do better without him. I know most of yall like vanguard and fidelity, but is schwab good for sep-ira/529/Roth type stuff? Has anybody had any dealings with them or their funds/ETFs?
TIA
TIA

Why do you think you can do better without him?

I offer no comment on your FA. However, I have a SEP-IRA with Schwab and I am happy. They have a selection of ETFs that have no trading costs, including, but not limited to Schwab's own ETFs. Customer service is great. Very easy to get someone on the phone and get their help.

I can set these up myself. I already have a tax guy. He is selling me C class shares with 1% back loads.
I can pick some decent index funds (SWSMX I think is the schwab version of vtsmx) and also some low fee no commision growth and dividend funds as well as some blue chip stocks (XOM, aapl, KO, etc). I've got 30 years till retirement

I don't get the love for vtsmx. There are higher fee, commissioned, lower risk, higher return options.

This is the darling of the money talk board. If you know of any good funds please feel free to share.

That costs padnuh. I'm just saying do your research. VTSMX is a good fund, but there are several a share commissioned funds with higher expense ratios and less risk that have a better than 9.5% average return after fees
I do realize the no-loads give you more freedom to move your money though

between my wife and I we have four IRAs with Schwab. None are a SEP though.
We have been very happy with their service, fees, and pretty much everything else. No problems.
I also have an account at fidelity, where I am not near as happy.

over what term?

30-80 years
Wife has had one since she was a kid that is distributing 10-12% capital gains this year on top of growth
I'm not trying to hate on Vtsmx, I'm just saying fees aren't always bad

I've been a very satisfied Schwab customer for probably 15 years or more. My Roth and checking account are setup with them.
You can still get Vanguard funds, plus just about anything else. They will cost very slightly more if you buy them through a non-Vanguard account but nowhere near the 1% load your Ameriprise guy is charging.
The main thing is that if you want advice you probably still have to pay for it. I have no idea how much that runs, I roll my own.

Any fund can get lucky. There's almost certainly a fund out there that made similar investment choices but didn't have a sales load.

Average 13% return over 40 years. If you look, they are out there.
ETA: 13.6 to be exact
