NEW ORLEANS - The president of the University of New Orleans is recommending discontinuing several programs as part of phase one of restructuring aimed at cutting costs, rebuilding enrollment and moving the school forward.

President Peter Fos' recommendations include discontinuing the following programs:

- B.S. in Early Childhood Education
- M.Ed. in Special Education
- Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction
- Ph.D. in Special Education
- The Department of Geography
- M.A. in Political Science
- Ph.D. in Political Science
- M.A. in Romance Languages

Not really the same since this doesn't have to do with sports. And it's been needing to happen long before UABs football program was dropped.

Dead serious, they didn't and don't call it that around here.

There were your standard undergrad programs of french, spanish, german, chinese.

Plus minors in those same languages plus a few more like Japanese, ancient greek, etc.

Never called anything romance languages, but assumed it would be along those lines.

Romance languages isn't a college course term... it's a term you use in life.

So because your school doesn't group their courses under the umbrella of "Romance languages" isn't a reason to not know the term.
