Both have a "senior" QB playing who has been able to win some games:

Brian Hoyer - 7-5 as a starter in 2014
Johnny Manziel - the future

Anthony Jennings - 7-3 as a starter in 2014
Brandon Harris - the future

Watching ESPN talk about if Manziel should start and they are telling him to wait and take this time and that the fan base is just too much and needs to chill..

Sounds a lot like us

The difference is Manziel can be in Cleveland for 10+ years whereas Harris has a cap at a maximum of 4. Especially after this atrocious offensive year we really don't have time to be patient.

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. There's no guarantee for Manziel. Its so much harder to be a good QB in the NFL. Have you ever wondered why some of the most mediocre QB's out there keep getting jobs on NFL teams?

In college, you can look great if you have a great supporting cast, or a fast-paced offense that scores a lot points.

I just took the browns to the superbowl. That was the only hope they had at making a superbowl with that shitshow of a team.

It's not the same.

another pathetic attempt to compare our QB situation to another sad QB situation.

The Browns can lose 5-6 games and still be in contention. LSU cannot lose 5-6 games and still be where people want them to be. Cmon man....

Hoyer has had 12 games to show his worth. He's done very MEHHH in that time period.

Not saying Manziel will be better than Hoyer, but given they have to sign Hoyer in the offseason to a contract if they want to keep him or trust in the "QB of the future" in Manziel they are in a bad situation if they don't see what they have in Manziel NOW! With 4 Weeks left its the perfect time to throw him to the wolves and see what the kid can do. If he shows his worth no worries when getting rid of Hoyer, if hes shaky you bring back Hoyer and sign him in the offseason.

LSU's situation is simple. We have 1 QB who has more time under his belt than the other. Jennings knows the playbook more and can do more with it and puts our team in an "okay" situation to win the game. Harris, well you saw what a meh Auburn team did to him. Harris just wasn't ready. If he wouldn't run his mouth so much and listen to the rantards and his twitter followers then he would have used this year to prepare for the real battle and that's next year. In a perfect world he should have red-shirted this year. He has all the talent in the world, but you cant take back the social media stuff. He isn't blind to it and lets it get to him.

Going into next year, Jennings the starter, Harris the #2 and can easily surpass Jennings with an injury or Jennings playing shaky, and #3 a JUCO QB that will pressure both of these kids.

Basically, our fans just need to chill. No of us know what's going on off the field with our QB situation. When the best player is ready to take over, he will play. When Beckwith was ready to take over, he played. Harris should look at that for his motivation. Saying you're ready to play, and proving it is totally different. Message to Harris...go prove that you are the guy and stop saying "I know all I need to know." Prove it.

FYI....I heard during the draft process that JFF had the lowest "football IQ" of any of the recent qb's drafted.

Not really the same. Hoyer has done well this year and so have the browns.

Hoyer hasn't done all that well...

Jennings didn't do all that well...

both QBs put there teams in situations to "win"...

both QBs couldn't win a game for their team if need be...that's the problem with both QBs

The analogy is there, obviously the possible duration of players is different. Performance wise the situations are similar

at least offensively, it was hard to watch

Um, there are levels of "bad".

Hoyer hasn't been all that but hell, he's not even the worst QB in the NFL. AJ is literally the worst starting QB on a major college football team. AJ is the worst long term starter I've seen IN MY LIFE at LSU(and I'm 47). He's almost as a couple of the train wrecks we put out there a couple of times in emergencies in my lifetime.

You can bet if Hoyer wasn't just "meh" but was bad of historic proportions, Manziel would've long since taken over. There is no comparison.

Oh, fantastic. So right where we are right now with this wasted season.

Said it before and I'll say it again. ONLY one of two things can be true about our QB situation.

1)Miles has totally whiffed at recruiting QBs and we are in deep shite next year

or

2)Miles should've been playing BH already this year because BH really is as good as advertised.

AJ is fricking bad. B.....A.......D bad!! BH wasn't riding pine behind a mildly effective guy with more experience, he was riding pine behind a historically bad LSU QB.

The option that BH is really as good as advertised by should've been on the bench this year is total nonsense. You don't sit a guy that really is good for one of the shittiest QBs in LSU history.

For those who have even a little bit of faith in Miles' QB evaluations, this should be highly worrying because if you have any faith in that, then BH is apparently nowhere near as good as advertised, freshman or not.

I don't know which one it is, but both are bad.
