This would allow them to make a move for a number of very successful head coaches, and to be honest - makes me very uncomfortable.

I've read in articles and seen in a documentary that one of Nick Saban's reasons for choosing to coach at LSU was the fact that they produce so much top end high school talent and there is very little competition for that talent. What coach wouldn't want to walk into a situation and pretty much be gifted a top 10 ranked recruiting class every year just by way of being the coach for the LSU Tigers? Now all you have to do is put together a staff that can coach them up.

I think some LSU fans don't have high enough expectations about what kind of coach they could realistically lure into Baton Rouge. It's a pretty sweet gig, and I truly think is a top 3 coaching job in America.

It could be a win-win for everyone involved. I think Miles would do a fantastic job at Michigan as well.

LSU has been shitty before and they can be shitty again. Hiring coaches is a pretty risky thing to navigate.

Nah man. Coaches are lining up at the door just like Texas, USC, Tennessee, Florida and Michigan.

Yeah, LSU went into the toilet the last time they made a coaching change. It took them three years to win a national championship with Saban's players.

Anyone can....USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, etc...

All LSU needs is a top notch recruiter to be a powerhouse year in and year out.

Honestly, I'd love to see LSU with a very high-powered offensive coach. With the athletes in Louisiana at WR, RB, TE, etc...they could do some serious damage.

The question should be when Saban bolts for LSU what will Bama do with the statue?

I've stated in an earlier thread that I would be very happy for Les Miles if he decided to take the Michigan job if offered. This is his final chance to coach for his Alma Mater and restore the program. I hope the decision comes sooner rather than later for both schools. I also hope he doesn't come back to Louisiana and recruits with all his connections. The fear is who will Alleva make a push for and how much LSU is willing to ante up for a quality coach. My guess is LSU loses Cam and Chavis if Miles leaves so it will be a new OC and DC hire as well. But whoever takes the job, the cupboard is laden with talent. We shall see.

I have been a Miles supporter and still do even though I do bang my head on the wall once in a while when I see things that don't make sense.

I do have to say that a Chip Kelly offense and a John Chavis defense would be an exciting proposition to ponder!

Hey Miles haters. how about Kingsbury? His offense out up lots and lots of points.

No matter because replacing coaches is so easy. Look at Notre Dame. The replace coaches like crazy and still stay on top.

Welcome to the family. Be prepared to be called an idiot for thinking LSU might be able to actually have a modern offense.

Saban wanted back before... and with his personality, he could come back again - high enough for you

You are correct

All that said, its hard to find an above average or great coach that can put it all together
