After being severely burned by Saban disciples more than anyone else (Dooley, Sunseri), I can't help but be very skeptical when I hear about another Saban guy that's not a big name.

Saban can make coaches and players look better than they really are. NFL GMs still get fooled with Bama busts year after year. Derek Dooley's most notable spec on his resume was "Saban Assistant" and more college ADs still get fooled by that.

Mark Dantonio at Michigan State is an outstanding coach.

Well at least they won't have to think much of him being a WR coach in the NFL.

That was like 20 years ago when he worked with Saban.

He was with him for his entire tenure at Michigan State. He left Michigan State as the DB coach, and joined Jim Tressell at OSU as defensive coordinator - before taking his first HC gig at Cincinnati and later returning as head coach at MSU.

I'd say he's a direct product of Nick Saban's coaching tree - and Dantonio would tell you the same thing.

Most FSU fans were ready for Jimbo to leave before Winston came along. I work with a die hard alum and there use to be rumors about Jimbo leaving and he was fine with it.

In defense of Saban, everyone who has been within 20 feet of him and coaches a sport is considered his progeny. He gets too much credit for the success of those who are successful, and too much blame for those who aren't.

Jimbo is a Terry Bowden disciple.
