God, I feel so bad for them. They were finally bowl eligible and now they find out they'll never play again.

Damn that really hurts to watch.

It's really an awful thing for all involved.

bama has evolved to a new level, first they kill trees, then they rape a passed out person, then kill a person, now they kill a entire football program.

Yeah it is. Birmingham will forget it by Saturday when Alabama takes the field against Missouri. All will be forgotten in a week or so.

Most likely over. Bama wins again. Til Jameis takes them from behind and treats them like they treat their sisters

Yeah that's pretty rough. I played a sport in college and it would've been tough for them to just shut us down like that. I can definitely empathize with them.

The Alabama Board of Trustees should be ashamed of themselves. They reject the contract for Jimbo Fisher, they reject a proposal to build a new stadium, and now they cop out and shut down the program. These kids played in a dejected stadium with facilities that aren't even up to par to a good bit of FBS and rode it out. And then this happens.

Bama has sunk to an all-time low here.

No it is. I doubt the BOT fires a newly hired president for doing what they wanted and it will be awfully hard to get the university our of the UA system without the president wanting to.

The best part is when the young man said something like "but you're going home to your big arse house".....boom! I will say this though, with the P5 going to this autonomy in the coming years, additional millions of dollars are going to be needed to stay alive as these universities start paying players. This is just the first school to act on it. Paying players is going to have a devestating cost to CUSA, MAC, SUNBELT, AAC and MWC programs.

The AAC has already said it was going to try and hang with the big boys, but I see the others forming their own division with a pullup of some of the higher FCS schools. So by 2020 there will probably be:
P6 (P5+AAC or 4 mega conferences)

mid level division

FCS
