I'm confused. Why did MSU move to B1G East Division?

It really sucks that Ohio State and Michigan State are in the same division this year after last years conference championship. What was the reasoning behind the move?

They added more teams this year and moved to East/West.

The Legends and Leaders crap attempted to create division parity, which may have been effective for 10 years or so. Eventually power within divisions will change, like what has happened with SEC East and West, for example. After that grace period, the Big Ten would've been stuck with a division map that looked like this:

Lastly, a lot of us Little 8 fans think Delaney had a hard on for a UM-OSU rematch in the Big Ten Championship Game, which thankfully never occurred.

It was COMPLETELY done to have a shot at a second Michigan/Ohio State game. Same way the ACC divided itself up to maximize the chances at a Miami/FSU game, which has also never happened.

Chicken,

I completely agree with the Legends and Leaders Crap Comment; I think just about everyone hated that!

As far as the East./West reasoning by the conference, I don't know if that really matters. Missouri is in the SEC east and that does not seem to fit geographically.

Geographically speaking on an east-west basis, shouldn't Michigan be aligned with OSU instead of MSU being aligned with OSU?
