Is classical economics on a permanent decline?

As long as we have globalization, Americans will continue to get poorer and poorer, leading to deafening cries for greater government jobs programs, safety nets, price controls, and nationalization of industries.
Every single day you can go on google news or yahoo and find an article titled something like this: "Good/service X is out of reach for many due to cost"
When will all this crap finally cause it all to boil over?
