Hell on Wheels - Just finished the finale

Spoilers obviously
-I was spoiled on Ruth's fate by accidentally hovering my mouse over the title of the thread that week...but still up until the very end thought she would accept the pardon. I really liked her character and found her stangely cute. Was she really trying to make a point or some grand gesture? Or was she just depressed since she had no church and no child? Also, its pretty clear with the direction the show is going, her story had run its course.
-very interested to see Bohannon in California...working with the chinese. So there are three converging railroads at this point right? Union Pacific, the Chinese line, and the mormons?
-I am glad to see Bohannon and Durant in opposition again.
-Naomi's mom was a Bitch...I lol'd when Bohannon served her up on her death bed.
-WTF happened at Fort Smith? Was smallpox slitting people's throats?
-My wife was mad as hell how they got rid of Elam.
-Has there been any backlash from the mormon community on how Brigham Young is being portrayed? He's is pretty much a scoundrel.

I've heard a little about some Mormons not kike it, but, so what.
Next season will be the last so I hope it's a good story to finish off. Ruth annoyed me at the end but I lkike the way they filmed her death from her point of view. Enhanced sounds were cool on the surround sound.

They have actually toned his character down compared to what he was really like.

I am going with some of the community stayed behind. Either the sick to die or unaffected to get the fort back in living order. Buncha Indians rolled up on them and killed them off. Hopefully the send it off with a strong final season. Not sure what's going to go down in Cali though. Doesn't feel like it's getting close to a finale and that often leads to a shitty ending.

Common and Ruth getting killed off sucks. Also, I thought the finale was very weak.

As i mentioned earlier....Ruth 's story had really nowhere to go with most of the story going to California. There was no organic way to keep her involved.
As for Elam. ...i look at that as a plot device to give more depth to cullen. Shows he does what he has to do....and that he actually has feels.
