It was fun when people treated me like the special kid in games and put me in spots so I could get a 3 kill streak with Hardline. So much harder today

It's useful for running and gunning. If you're running out of a building, turn on invisibility, and the enemy may hesitate for a split second, long enough for you to fire first. The key is actually having the reaction time to fire first, and the accuracy to make those shots count.
That said, I don't use it much.
