to Auburn as DC. I don't like that prospect very much.

I sincerely doubt that happens.

Would be a slam dunk hire for sure.

Makes too much sense to be true.

I don't see Boom staying there long enough to make a significant impact. He will be a HC again sooner rather than later.

Hearing it is ramping up on the pay sites. Auburn fired their DC today.....would not like the combination they would have there.

Real rumor is that CLM will work the backchannels to get Boom the Mich job...

I would be more afraid of Pellini at Auburn as DC.

Well, scuttlebutt is normally an indicator that something won't happen when it comes to coaching searches.

Les to Michigan!

Remember that?

The reason I say it is unlikely is because Boom isn't stupid. He's trying to rebuild his image and that means putting up gaudy defensive numbers and wrecking house. That just won't happen at Auburn with the HUNH offense-based philosophy. Even the Auburn defense is vastly improved, it still won't jump out as great.

I see him going somewhere with traditional style offense where he can truly shine.

how many schools needing a DC still run a traditional style offense?

Season's not over yet.

However, Auburn is the polar opposite of a traditional offense. Anything less than that fits Boom's goals better.

Oh, and South Carolina is still where I think he ends up.

Well, that's just stupid.

Florida still owes him his buyout, correct? So, he gets paid the contract amount less the difference of his current salary at a new school. Offering him more money is a poor motivator.

It is amazing how many Alabama fans are trying to convince themselves Muschamp to Auburn isn't happening. People who are worried about something usually try to convince themselves it wont happen

That's how NFL contracts work, but I don't think colleges work like that. I would imagine it is different for every contract and school. I think that's why you see fired coaches accept a buy out. They negotiate a cheaper price so they can move on to another job.

Not particularly worried. Saban typically beats the shite out of his proteges.

Just think Auburn would be a poor fit for Muschamp, but people said the same thing about Kiffin. That turned out alright.

Not like we need our defense to totally shut Alabama out. Malzahn's offense scored 21 points against the 2009 national championship team with Chris Todd at quarterback, and his offense is averaging 36 points a game against Alabama in his two years as head coach. That doesn't count the touchdown Chris Davis scored
