Mine was a zero gravity slot car racing track, the kind you put the cars on and had the pistol grip controllers wired to it. One year I got one with a track that went up the wall and back down, thought it was the coolest thing ever.

A got a desktop computer in1999 when I was in 8th grade. My spoiled arse refused to ask for anything else and I was convinced I wasn't getting anything for Christmas because my parents said I wasn't getting one and there was nothing under the tree for me.

They had it in the kitchen and pulled it out after my siblings opened all their gifts. The spike from sad to over the moon happened so fast. It was awesome.

My parents got my brother and I both huge tubs full of very Power Ranger toy. It was so damn awesome. My parents didn't have a ton of money growing up, but they always hooked us up. One of the reasons I believed so hard in Santa Claus. "My parents can't afford all of the presents I get."

1984--I received 3 presents that defined my childhood and shaped my future interests.

1. Optimus Prime: I actually asked earlier that year for my birthday. Hasbro could not keep him in stock, though. I have never been more excited to open a present since that day.

2. The Millennium Falcon--enough said...

3. Castle Grayskull--He-man began my interest in many subjects: Swords and armor, hand to hand combat, fantasy/folklore, medieval culture, and badasery.
