Watching Star Wars for the First Time; Any Advice?

Wife and I are starting the series tonight. In what order should we watch them? There are six total (so far), right? I believe the order I've heard recommended is: Episode IV, V, II, III, VI (and don't watch I at all). Does that sound right?
Apart from knowing the unavoidable spoiler from Episode V (Empire Strikes Back), I'm going in completely blind. Wife has seen ESB, but otherwise she knows nothing either. Any recommendations for watching would be appreciated.
May the force be with us (or something).

If you have never seen them, just do 1-6.

You can skip 2. 3 wasn't too bad but it wasn't too great either.

I like the 4-5-1-2-3-6 order too. You can just sleep through 1.

Watch the Original Trilogy first, because you may not want to proceed if you start with the new ones. Episode I isn't as bad as people make it sound, imo. I thought Attack of the Clones was even worse.

There's only three Star Wars movies. Whoever said six was lying.

Read plot summary of 1&2. Watch 3-6. This eliminates a lot of Jar Jar and some of Hayden Christensen.

Start with E4 of course. You'll enjoy all 3 of them.

Uh no, he won't want to go to 4 after enduring 1-3, if he even gets through all of them.

do 4, 5, and 6 first.

Do not skip 1. Qui-gon Jinn is one of the best characters in Star Wars, played by Liam Neeson. And watching the evolution of the absolute bad-arse Obi-won Kenobi is awesome to watch - from padawan to knight to master and mentor. It's popular to hate on episodes 1-3 but I actually enjoy them. The graphics are way better, especially the lightsaber duels.

I would watch them like this:
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode II
Episode III
Episode VI
Watch Episode I for unneeded back story at a later date.
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode II
Episode III
Episode VI
Watch Episode I for unneeded back story at a later date.

Watch 4-6, skip prequels.

You're right. It's worse.

Correct again.
Watch the original trilogy and then, if you feel like it, check out the prequels.

IV, V, VI
You only have to watch the prequels if you hate yourself.

Somehow Episode III was better than those 2 despite having some of the worst dialogue ever put to film.

Attack of the Clones is total garbage.

4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Skip 1.

If you don't enjoy that lightsaber duel at the end of episode 1 between Qui-gon, Obi-Won, and Darth Maul, then I don't know why you even watch Star Wars to begin with.
