In the '90s, Scott Stapp was one of the biggest rock stars in the world, as the frontman for Creed. Now, though, the With Arms Wide Open singer says he's broke and homeless, living in a Holiday Inn.

In a 16-minute video posted to Facebook Wednesday morning, Stapp, 41, says his problems started several weeks ago, when he initiated an audit of his record company and his personal finances.

"There are people that have taken advantage of me and stolen money from me," he says, "and they're trying to discredit me, slander me."

Stapp released a solo album called Proof of Life in 2013, with Christian radio stations playing singles Slow Suicide and Dying to Live. He had scheduled a two-and-a-half-week November tour but canceled it in October, citing health concerns.

Creed played sunfest in west palm in 2012. They put on a pretty good show and I figured it was some sort of comeback playing in front of his hometown fans since he was arrested for a domestic at his Manalapan mansion. Guess that big money lifestyle is hard to maintain when you are getting fricked up and your greatest hits are 20 years in the past.

Didn't he try to commit suicide and ended up landing in TI's VIP suite with some broken bones?

I remember Kid Rock doing an interview saying Stapp was crazy as frick and he couldn't hang with his lifestyle back in the day...he told a story about how Stapp would always need like 4 chicks to blow him because he couldn't get off with any less

Ha. Had a friend argue with me that Creed would have a better and longer career than 311 about the time the 311 guys beat Stapp up for being an obnoxious tool.

While you are entitled to your opinion, and I agree with you to an extent...that wasn't the point of my post, pal.

He was doing mountains of coke and meth mixed toward the end of his Creed days. Went off the rails.

Yeah I remember that interview. You know you're hitting it hard when Kid Rock admits he had to bow out.
