There are multiple people involved. Im guessing some want to reopen and some are happy keeping their millions of dollars in insurance settlement.
Hopefully they sell the brand which is still worth quite a bit and somebody else could bring it back.

Bring it back with original quality ingredients. Most recent pies were really cutting quality corners. I think if they revised the quality it could quickly regain lost ground.

Minimal apples In the apple pies, fake lemon filling in the lemon etc. 30 years ago they were incredible.

It wouldn't take much to get a decent pie filling. You don't have to go to boutique level to make a decent quality pie. Fake processed fillings are pathetic. Quality sells.

I am going to hunt those bitches down and do absolutely not a damn thing (for the benefit of the attorneys reading this) if they don't get their shite together and reopen this institution. For gods sake, just start making the pineapple and chocolate again. Screw the rest of the people, I will buy the production on those two flavors.

It definitely ranks up there with Buds Broiler on the list of things people in NOLA swear is great (for nostalgic reasons) but really isn't good at all.

Agreed. I may have liked each in youth, but both products either fell off off in quality, or my taste buds grew up.
Today's comparable offering's sophistication level has left these products behind(Zingers, King Dons, Patio frozen meals, etc..), be it a HFCS fruity goop pie or greasy burger hut..dinosaurs..they go extinct.

I've always said that food triggers memories. Are the pies that great or is Buds that good? Of course not but as New Orleanians, they trigger the memories we have of eating those items.

I cannot disagree with this.
