How much has Cam Jordan cost himself?

I don't know anything about salary #'s and all that jazz, but just wondering what he should expect to get from the Saints and what he could get on the open market?
Last year, I thought he was going to be the highest paid player other than Brees. Now, not so much.

JJ Watt being the ceiling of 16.67mil which should never be touched by anyone else.
Mario Williams - 16mil/yr
53.5 sacks over 6 years in Houston
25 sacks since that contract in his 2nd season
Robert Quinn - 14.25mil/yr
34.5 sacks over 3 years
6 sacks since that contract for this season
Charles Johnson - 12.67mil/yr (best indicator imo)
22 sacks over his first 4 years (12 sacks in 2010)
Signed 6yr/76mil
Since then: 37.5 sacks over 4 (including this year)
Chris Long - 12.05mil/yr (2nd best indicator imo)
31 sacks over his first 4 years (13 sacks in 2011)
signed 4yr/48.2mil
Since then: 20 in 2 years (injured this year, was recalled off IR already)
Michael Johnson - 8.75mil/yr
27 sacks over his first 5 years (11.5 sacks in 2012)
Signed 5yr/43.75mil
Since then: 3.5 sacks this year?
Cameron Jordan
26.5 sacks in 3.5 seasons (12.5 sacks in 2013)
If he kept his production up like last year ~12 sacks, we're looking at him getting Robert Quinn money (14mil/yr)
The way he's now? He lost himself about 2-3mil/yr. He's still projected 7-8 sacks this year, he's still one of the best run defenders in the league, and watching take you know he's not the issue and its the interior line.
He'll still make his 7mil next year, and the following year if he keeps his sack #s >8, he'll hit the open market for 12mil.

I don't know the answer, but sacks don't tell the story by themselves.
The film will tell

Thanks for the info
Hopefully he gets back to last year cause he was looking like he was going to be Top 5 in the league.

He's a very solid DE, but he plays on the strong side with less opportunities to get sacks on QBs.
Sack #s for LDE are not nearly as high as RDE, but need to look at overall pressure and how good your run defense is.
Charles Johnson's contract is where I see Cameron Jordan as. LDEs that can produce solid consistent pressure that you have to account for and solid run stopping abilities.
48 games:
144 tackles (87 solo)
21.5 sacks
5 FF (5 FR)
15 PD
8 STF
114 tackles (89 solo)
21.5 sacks
4 FF (1 FR)
11 PD
5 STF
nearly identical, and I would not be surprised if the offered him something along the lines of 5yr/65mil (13mil/yr) when the cap raises up even further.

His season is nothing to sneeze at.
But it's not at the level we've come to expect.

That's exactly what I meant. He was looking like the next superstar. He's been good this year.

His sack total fluctuated because his weight usually did

Besides the sack numbers, he's having a down year compared to last year. I remember reading on Twitter after either the Bengals or Ravens game that he has 3 games this year with 0 qb hurries, after having 0 all of last year.

You know who's costing himself money? Akiem Hicks. Seriously, I've heard the dudes named called maybe 4 times all season.. And he makes sure you know it with that stupid fricking dance he does. Hey Akiem, more tackles, less dancing.

Yep. I didn't use the word "sack" once, but I think people will assume that when you mention a guy like him having a down year. But shite man, some QB pressure is needed and they're not doing it. Poster just mentioned Hicks as well and I agree.

To put it in perspective he averaged 4.8 total pressures per game last year(sacks, hits, and hurries) compared to only 3 a game this year. It may not seem like a big drop going from 5 to 3 but it is.
That said, he's still having a decent year. It's not dominate like last year but he's still getting some pressures in.
Galette's total pressures per game are actually up from about 3.6 last year to 4.5 this year. And keep in mind he gets less snaps than Jordan.

And people talking about Hicks are only remembering his few dominating sacks. He only had 21 total pressures last year, and already has 18 this year.
His tackles are down though. That's where we have been missing his presence(in the run game).

Bone, whats the numbers on John Jenkins?
He played something like 60% of snaps last year, is a better pass rusher than Bunkley, but he's worse in run defense.
How are his pressure #s?
And yes, Cam is costing himself, but honestly this team is just shot.

Jenkins only played about 45% of the snaps and managed 13 pressures(less than 1 a game). He has 7 in 8 games this year playing about 40% of the snaps.
