My great grandmother lived until 103. She smoked at least a pack a day as far back as I can remember, and started when she was 9

Had an old guy who used to come in our office who was 90, he always had a pack of cigs in his shirt pocket. One day someone ask him how long he had been smoking, he said since he was 13. He said every damn doctor that told me to quit. I've outlived. He still worked part time 3 days a week .

My grandfather died a few years back of every cancer in the book. He smoked a 5 pack of king edwards cigars a day (inhaled of course) and a 5th of evan williams every couple of nights. Had a cigar on his death bed like a boss just a few hours before he passed. He took worked part time until he was physically and mentally gone.

I think a lot of it has to do with being happy. This old guy always had a smile on his face and was always cutting up with people, especially the women.

My mom is 79 and started smoking when she was 9, yes 9 years young. She quit smoking when she was 68 because the doctor said they would have to cut off one of her legs if she didn't quit. She is now on oxygen 24/7 and probably has a few good years left. Anyone who smokes is dumb. You aren't young forever. It will kill you sooner than later.

Grandmother was 88 when she died, smoked until the last six months, THEN she got the congestive heart failure.

I played a funeral some years ago, the man died at 107 years old. He smoked cigars until he was 103.

A buddy of mine dad got diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer when he was 38 and died at 39 (10 days before his son's high school graduation).

Sounds like he was using the wrong orifice to smoke with.
Those butt butts must have been super nasty in an ash tray.

You never know. Ex GF brother died of lung cancer at 30. His dad is in his 60s on oxygen.

My Grandfather smoked till he died at 83. Mother has smoked her whole life and her 70s.

Jeanne Calment died of natural causes at 122. Smoked almost 100 years.

I don't know anyone who is a regular smoker, I know a few who smoke when they drink. Oldest is 30. Youngest person to die from smoking was 57.

ETA: just remembered that I have an uncle who smokes. I'm guessing he's around 57-60, don't know his real age.

My grandpa smoked 4-5 packs of picayune a day and drank a fifth of turkey a day. Started when he was four and died in a knife fight in Algiers at 102.
