First no guarantee chavis stays so then you are relying on him to make a good hire there. Then the reason also could be recruiting. You can only take so many guys. If he just stocks up on skill players on the offense the d will be left thin. So yeah at first the talent will be there, then I'm sure it would fall off on the d side of the ball unless he absolutely makes it a point. Which he doesn't at Baylor.

Jim McElwain > Art Briles..Art is a great guy, great story, but too gadget. Briles is no longer playing with 2* scrubs, yet gadget ball still is his/Baylor's storyline.

McElwain's next platform(1st bigtime one) and the history books will show you this, just watch. Give it six yrs to a decade. He will not be leaving CSU until a monster gig comes calling, and they will be courting him soon.

Supposedly, LSU's Braintrust still loves Jimbo should the job ever open up, and I totally agree with them, he should be the very 1st phone call.

Art Briles isn't responsible for his whole team?

Chavis is gone if Miles leaves. There is nothing tying him here except that he likes working with Les.

I already stated the only offenses it would work with are an auburn type where it's more of a spread run offense not spread throwing offense.

And you also named one time with a once in a lifetime type talent and a team that had an average defense.

All of these validate my point and invalidate yours

What is yalls obsession with teams who run the air raid offense? Look how well that turned out for a and m.

The only successful spread offenses that work in the SEC are spread running offenses like what auburn runs and Florida used to run with tebow

And our defense would suck with an offense like that

Baylor, like the new TCU, runs a modern very up tempo balanced offense, definitely not air raid. Compare these startling stats:

Baylor, scoring offense #2 in November, has rushed 162 times, 791 yds, for 14 TDs and 263 yds/gm, passed 108 times, completed 72, 69% for 6 TDs. That is run heavy 65/33 not air raid.

LSU in November is 128th in scoring offense...dead last in the FBs with 2 TD passing and Zero rushing TDs in the last 3 games.

LSU has NO offense. The worst in history over the last 3 games. 100 yds rushing/passing Avg 7 pts / gm to Baylor's 52.

A&m has no D and that spread beat bama.. Still something we struggle doing..

It's adding a successful spread with this defense that is a wet dream.

To say our defense would suck when they already get no breaks with an offense going 3 and punt all game long is silly.
