After reviewing all aspects of the program, 2015 is a critical year....
Posted by Moustache on 11/26/14 at 2:52 pm1219
I truly believe this program will not reach championship caliber again until we start over with a new regime. It was a fun ride while it lasted though. Really fun. I hope I'm completely wrong, but I truly don't believe I am.
Here are the facts:
* Recruiting has slipped. 2014 was a great recruiting year, no doubt. However, LA was stacked and it would've been an epic fail not to finish top 5 last year. The classes that worry me are classes like 2015 and 2012. Especially 2015. We are bottom half of the SEC in recruiting in 2015. It's almost B1G bad.
* Median recruiting ranking was top 7 00-09. Since then we've had MAJOR ups and downs. THe past 5 years we've been out of the top 10 as much as we've been in it.
* Unless an NFL starting caliber QB (Flynn, JR, Mett)-neither of which Les recruited or developed is running the offense with 1st round WRs, the offense is ranked below 70th. Just pathetic.
* LSU has the most NFL players. Kudos to the staff for recognizing this talent. However, having Alabama be our daddy and losing chicken bowls and going 7-5 is not acceptable.
If Les doesn't go at least 9-3 next year, he needs to be gone. Even 9-3 would be sickening IMO.
If I had my way, he'd be gone this year. 7-5 is just not acceptable.

A lot of people are not aware of this.
Our opponents in the SEC have raised their games while we have regressed.
My prediction is 8-4 next year, 9-3 in 2016. I don't think we will ever compete for another championship while Les is here. I think Les will be here for the next 3-8 years. We are entering the stage of where Florida State was the last 5 years of Bobby Bowden's tenure.

Wait for his pumpers to complain that Les doesn't have the same funding as Saban for a recruiting budget as the reason for this even though I seriously doubt the LSU admin would be against more funding for recruiting.

This is the part people forget. We're putting forth the same old BS and effort while our conference has gotten better. We're not evolving on offense, others have. It's just common sense we are sliding. Everybody has seen it but the sunshine pumpers.
I predict 7-6 this year, I predict 7-6 next year, then the wheels come off in 2016 at 5-7 and Les is finally "retired."
Meanwhile, we turn in to fricking Texas by watching it happen instead of accepting reality and taking action.

So, recruiting is done for 2015?
Who else we gonna get besides a few 3 stars the pretty it up with numbers?
Malik and Mack are Aggies. Especially with this abortion of a season and offense.

Honest question, do you actually enjoy LSU football or just enjoy shitting on the program and coaches?

quote:Slipped, huh? Fact, huh? The last two completed recruiting cycles, LSU has had the #5 and #3 classes in the country. We will likely have a top 10 class again this year. The frick are you talking about?!

Flynn, Mett - neither of which Les recruited or developed

It will likely finish in the top 12, which while it sounds good will likely be 5th best at best in the SEC.
The problem Les has had since he's been here has been that his approach has left significant holes in each years teams. Even if you look early on, he missed majorly on OL recruits and the whole team suffered despite experienced QBs. Hell, even the 2007 NC team had to convery 2 DL to be the right side of the offensive line.
In the, end LSU will probably be the same next year as this year and that will continue for the following season because that is what LSU has become. A better version of Les' OSU teams. Mediocre to good with the occassional great game against a top dog (OU = Bama).
If LSU fans are fine with that, then so be it. Les doesn't seem to carry or be worried, so why should they? He's sitting on $15 Million guaranteed right now and $4 million more each year he's still here basically.

Malik and Mack are Aggies. Especially with this abortion of a season and offense.
And because A&M's defense and season are so much better than ours. . .

So you don't think this awesome 2014 class that got a lot of experience will lead to better results?
That's a ridiculous opinion and obviously agenda driven because you don't like the coach.

Wtf? Per 247
2014 #2 class
2013 #6 class
2012 #14 class (only one outside top ten)
2011 #8 class
2010 #9 class

So a LB and DT are gonna spurn us for TAMU bc of our OFFENSIVE woes and putrid 7-4 record (same as TAMU)? Im not saying these recruits wont choose TAMU but ur logic is quite flawed.

It's obvious you know next to nothing about recruiting, so sit down.
Also the moron talking about 9-3 in 2016, sit down. I've did the math on this already. If we lose every draft-able player this year (Vadal, Hawkins, Dural. Kwon, Hunter, Mills, J. Collins, + seniors), then we will bring back no less than 17 starters for the 2016 season.
That 2016 season would consist of an fully experienced OL and DL. Dupre, Quinn, and Chark as juniors, Smith as a senior. Jones as a senior, Harris as a junior, Fournette and Williams as juniors, Guice and Ducre as sophomores. Adams and Paris as juniors and Toliver as a sophomore.
Team will be loaded and extremely experienced.

We have top shelf talent. As much as when saban was around. Maybe more. Offensive execution is what is missing.
