I know there are few who post on here.
Are any of you using the medtronic 530g pump with the elite CGM?
If so how do you like it?
Mine just came in the mail today. I am Planning on setting up this weekend.

I have this pump but do not use CGM, just a personal preference there though. I didn't want another something stuck in my stomach constantly.
That being said, for me, it's really different than my old pump since I don't use CGM. I probably will one day use it, but also not until insurance covers it.

uh, fatasses would be type 2
which don't require insulin pumps.

How do you guys like pumps? I still do multiple daily injections (for the past 20 years). I don't mind it and get good (not great) a1c. Should I really think about a pump?

It's not for me, but rather my son. He likes it and it's really about as inconvenient as wearing a pager. His a1c has been better on it than with injections.

I don't have the 530 G but I do have the one before that. I use the CGM with the Inlite sensor. Works great and very convenient. I put them in my leg so that I don't have so many sites above my waist.

I use the pump and CGM. I have been Type 1 for 27 years. The change from 2-3 injections daily to one to two injections every 3-6 days has been beneficial. I find that the CGM is not always accurate, but I love being able to see the trends. My A1C has dropped from 8.4 to 7.1, so I believe it is worth it.

I just got diagnosed a month or so ago as a type 1 at 32....was in diabetic ketoacidosis....had to spend 3 nights in the hospital...currently on shots but was thinking about the pump but I agree that I don't want something stuck in me all the time...has anyone looked into afrezza? It's inhaled versus injected...that would cut me down to 1 shot a day instead of 4

cgm is great, once it is calibrated correctly

Is that the kind of thing you should be doing yourself? Just asking, maybe that's the usual procedure, but seems like something a pro ought to do

Best thing I ever did. I have been one for 31 years last month. My a1c have been great since going on the pump. Before with shots my a1c were all over the place. My last one was 6.2. I have been using medtronic got 15 years now. I love it.

I hated the cgm it was not very accurate at all so it went in the draw where it still sits to this day.
