At work, I occasionally say "we got fined $25 and had to pick up the garbage" or "that dude belongs on the Group W bench." While it is always situationally appropriate, no one knows what the hell I am talking about.

The song is brilliant.

Used to listen to that late at night when I could pick up Beaker Street from Little Rock, ARK all the way in Mobile, AL. True art.
You know, if one person, just one person, does it, they may think he's
Really sick and they won't take him.

And if two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both ****s and
They won't take either of them.

And if three people do it! Can you imagine three people walkin' in, singin'
A bar of "Alice's Restaurant" and walkin' out? They may think it's an
Organization!

And can you imagine fifty people a day? I said FIFTY people a day . . .
Walkin' in, singin' a bar of "Alice's Restaurant" and walkin' out? Friends,
They may think it's a MOVEMENT, and that's what it is: THE ALICE'S
RESTAURANT ANTI-MASSACREE MOVEMENT!

One of the greats I can thank my grandfather for introducing me to as a young child. Ray Stevens is another favorite.

Arlo was pretty funny, but his father was probably the most influential song writer in history. People love to cite Bob Dylan, but without Woody, there would be no Dylan.

I don't get it. Great song and all but what's the significance of posting it "this time of year?"
