Needless to say, "Shitter's full" was a big hit.

Also, the boy enjoyed the pool dream sequence.

You know you've raised your kids right when they enjoy Christmas Vacation.

Proud to say that my little angel learned to give the #1 salute from Clark Griswold himself in the opening scene as they drive to get the Griswold family Christmas tree.

She was 5 at the time.

I actually agree with this, but I enjoy Christmas Vacation better, if that makes sense.

Every year, I've been at least a tiny bit worried that my boss is going to give us Jelly of the Month Club cards.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus at 28

And, her onscreen husband was played by the lesser known Guest brother, Nicholas, the IRL brother of Christopher "These go to 11" Guest and brother-in-law of Jamie Lee Curtis (the Lord and Lady Haden-Guest, thank you very much).

JLD is also in line to inherit a slice of a billion dollar fortune, so that was an old money couple, right there.

Christmas Story is one of the most overrated movies in history. If not for nostalgia, nobody would think so highly of it. And it can't even remotely touch Christmas Vacation IMO. Not even a little bit.

I respectfully disagree.

While they are very different movies in tone and delivery, both have at their heart a lot of nostalgia.

Anyway, my kids LOVE the Christmas carols at the Chinese restaurant...to the point I have to admonish them NOT to repeat them at school, lest I get a call from the principal.

well only overrated in the sense that it's played for 24 hours straight, but it's still a classic
