When do you feel successful enough to fly first class?

I upgrade every once in a while when the company is paying the bulk of the ticket. When I'm up there, I feel like I wasted my money, but when I'm not, I wish I would have ponied up the extra. I feel like a pretend OT baller, but i hate waiting to de-board and get slight joy put of getting served drinks while people are still waiting in line just kidding, but I'm not.

Company dime? Every time.

My money? Ryan Air seat by the bathroom and no checked luggage.

I hear what you're saying, but the complimentary upgrade from having elite status is where it's at. All the perks, with none of the cost!

If I'm paying, never. Company pays, occasionally. Got bumped to 1st class from Seattle last Thursday.

Used to cost about $45 to upgrade from Anchorage to Juneau. I did that once. It's not that cheap anymore.

It's $100 from Houston to Nola. Not worth it, but I've been in the airport bar since 4...... So it's now worth it.

Once you fly private you will NEVER want to go back to commercial and that includes first class.

Bringing the kids on the plane makes flying 1st class worth every penny. There is extra room and they refill my vodka drinks quickly

I don't like private. It doesn't give me the opportunity to show off my baller status. Show up to some private hangar and all the common people don't get to see how awesome I am. That's not OT at all.

Most of the people up there are upgraded cause they fly all the time for work, doesn't mean they're ballers or successful

Points and miles. Fly business class and first class without it coming out of my pocket.

I'm being a little facetious if you can't tell. I realize it's no status marker in my life, but it is nicer. Just not for what they charge. I've done pretty well compared to the expectations I've had for myself to this point. My family is comfortable financially. I still can't see paying for first class tickets regularly. Only overseas flights.
