The Rolling Stone may be the single worst media source.

That is not an exaggeration.

For an individual who posts on a sports message board, who is presumably a sports fan, you sure do whine a lot about those that benefit from sports fans like you, me, and the rest of us; although most of us aren't morally outraged like yourself. You know what you can do? Stop talking about and watching sports and perpetuating this problem that is so reprehenible to you. Or does your moral compass only extend to whiny, self-serving diatribes instead of any actual action and self-sacrifice?

You can't argue with the top 3 (Dan Snyder, Jeff Loria and James Dolan). They're greedy scum-sucking a-holes who make their franchises worse.

Snyder shouldn't even be on the list

I think Snyder is a great owner just because he won't bow down to the PC name police

I just don't understand which is more sad or pathetic: the fact that you hold up on a pedestal the kind of people who would have your mother killed (and get away with it) if she interfered with their profit margins, or the fact that you believe that if you can frick over just enough people, you can be just as "successful" as them!

That article was insufferable and unreadable, but I don't see why it's so hard for people here to believe that some rich people made their money doing shady, immoral things. Welcome to the real world. Money doesn't make you right.

Having money isn't necessary to do shady and immoral things?

Didn't read the article but I don't suppose the writer wrote about the economic benefits of having thousands of people come into a city for a game and tailgate at bars, go to dinner etc.; all of the jobs and tax revenues that a sports team gets. I'm guessing he didn't do a thorough economic analysis and share the outputs?

jerrah is a terrible GM, but he is a good owner

tom benson should be on that list, but that would require 2 whole minutes of research

Snyder is the worst owner because he won't change the name of a team that's been around for 30+ years and was just deemed racist by bunch of white people in the last 5 years?

:jlawgif:

And calling people assholes in journalism is a sure fire way to make sure you're taken seriously.

Terrible list.

ETA:

I will say that, although Paul Brown should be on this list, he has gotten a lot better the past few years of letting other more competent people run the team.

I agree. I think he has been a great owner so far. He wants to win, and he's going to do something about it. Way better than what we have had in the past.

"both Bennett and McClendon are heavy Republican donors, with McClendon making his fortune on fracking and screwing landowners out of royalties as they sit above the toxic sludge, then spending the proceeds on climate-change denialism and the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign."

Terrible owners...

As shitty as Loria may be as a person screwing taxpayers, he honestly based off the last few seasons may be a genius as an owner.
