If I buy a turkey this afternoon and let it sit out all night and then let it hang out in the fridge all day Wednesday will it be properly thawed by Thursday at lunch?

I think it will. What say the FDB?

Probably so. I usually get mine a week in advance and let it thaw slow in the icebox.

That's sound advice.

And change the water out often.

I was going to leave him in the bag until completely thawed.

You are putting it in a bag and then in a water bath right? If so, you should change the water out often.

do not leave it out fresh running water or to be safe or just buy a fresh bird.
