Steve Smith commented on the brawl saying he had it out for Vacarro since last season in Carolina.. Kenny did nothing wrong today.

Steve Smith will never get a Super Bowl ring....

Actually looked like the threw a bit of a punch BUT I thought they should've been offsetting penalties. Then again, none of us are on the field and if he threw out a profanity laced tired and the ref heard it - BOOM.

It would be pretty lame if Vaccaro got penalized because Smith pushed off Vaccaro's facemask from underneath, and then Vaccaro said something to mean to him.

with a theoretical penalty of 99 yards.

Would be a hell of a throw to make a catchable ball 99 yards downfield.

Hence the word theoretical

There was zero contact on that route until their legs hit.

Defensive PI being a spot foul is the worst rule in football

Vaccaro threw a punch that missed. I think that is why he got penalized. The refs were going to let all of the pushing and shoving go unflagged but once he threw the punch they couldn't do that. Had he landed the punch then he would have been ejected.

I have a much bigger issue with the PI called against Lewis. That was a clear case of the 2 players getting their feet tangled.

Honestly, those are terrible calls that went the Saints way. That hit on Brees was a joke, to have that called roughing the passer was laughable. That "catch" where he was bobbling it and then gained possession - HIS arse WAS ON THE WHITE. That's out of bounds, at least when I played football.

I don't understand the need for Saints fans to blame the refs so much. Even if the calls don't go your way (and in this game, they did), good teams overcome shitty calls and find ways to win the game.

Any QB getting hit in the helmet in any way shape or form has been called all year. How is that anything laughable or a joke?
Its the rules, its a fricking idiotic rule, but we've had it called against us and teams have had it called against them.
Simple hand swatting the top of a helmet as you're trying to swat the ball and miss, penalty
slight helmet to helmet, even incidental, penalty

The catch is within rules, but it was a call I didn't even think was a catch. Unless you're saying, he was still inbounds and they caught it simultaneously, then offense gets the ball. Personally, that was a call you can't overturn if you called it a catch from the start. If they called incomplete and challenge, I'm 99.9% sure they wouldn't overturn it and call it a catch. Not enough evidence to overturn it either way and going by rules that's how reviews work. If your call was something on the field, if it is inconclusive evidence, gotta stick w/ the call.

Not sure about that...did u watch detroit? Rafael Bush covered Reggie very well, 4th down, and we got a PI called against us because Stafford threw it a bit too far out of reach.

How about the feet incidentally got tangled? offsetting penalties instead of pushing them back 5 yards.

The ref that was NEXT to them didn't even throw a flag til he saw one from behind the play. talk about reactionary flag.

It fit three different types of roughing the passer. Easy penalty call

There wasnt an angle that showed this. It was extremely close and the call on the field would have stood either way

This thread seems to randomly go after a lot of ref calls; but

In watching the game, anything Vacarro might have done was extremely minor and in response to Steve Smith going full ghetto thug on him. Based on his coach sitting him awhile afterwards, I'd say he surprised even Harbaugh.

I think the refs were scared to call anything on Smith. I wish Ed Hocule would have been there, he probably would have shoved Smith away.
