Rumor: Christoph Waltz is Blofeld in Bond 24

I posted on here about a week ago that Christoph Waltz had been cast as the Bond Villain in the new film. Today it is being reported that he will be playing Bond's arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

When did they get the rights back to Blofeld? I thought that Blofeld and SPECTRE were off-limits.

Thought the same thing. That's why they had killed him off (someone like him) at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only.

Awesome! I came close to posting on here the other day that I hope Quantum returns in the next Bond Movie. They spent too much time in the first two movies to just throw that storyline away. Blofeld is Bond's Lex Luthor/Joker. I'd love to see a modern twist on him that doesn't just make him a Dr. Evil.
My hope is they sort of reveal him in the next movie as the man behind Quantum and then make him the primary villain in a future Bond.
