Some of y'all might remember that I started a post about my dad having a stroke a few months back. Well he has been having a ton of physical issues since then, extreme dizziness, muscles are atrophying somewhat, extreme exhaustion, tongue feels thick, has tons of scars on his brain now. Plus several other symptoms. Even has to walk with a cane because he is so unsteady. He has been to three hospitals and no one can figure out what is going on. One even sent him in for a psyche eval.

Well, his new cardiologist today told him he thinks he has a decent chance of having ALS and is sending him to the best neaurologist in Birmingham who specializes in the treatment of ALS and MLS. We know it has to be something, he has been feeling like this for 3-4 months now. Randomly, out of nowhere too. Was it even a stroke is what we are wondering now.

I feel like my heart has been ripped out. I'm praying it's not, and going by that assumption until we know for certain, but if it is..... I cannot imagine a world where I don't talk to my dad daily. Some guys are momma's boys, I'm a father's boy. Those who never had a father in your life, or if he wasn't worth having around but was there. I'm sorry you never got to experience what my father and I have. I wish you could have it, and hopefully you do with your child. I love that man like no one else on this planet. I'll probably disappear for 6 months or more if he dies from anything other than old age.

Any doctors who can tell me if those symptoms sound like ALS. Anyone who can refute it? Oh and he is 54 yrs old. I'll also say that the muscle atrophy might be from lack of use. He has essentially been sitting in his recliner for since this started.

I humbly ask for your prayers for my Pops as well.

Thanks guys. Love your family.

Prayers for you and your family. Honestly ALS is the scariest disease to me. Hope he doesn't have it.

Hate to hear that man, if you need some inspiration check out Sgt. Ian Hogg,
LINK

raised in Adamsville, AL, great guy, has struggled with the disease for several years and does a lot to help raise awareness for ALS.

Has he been checked for Lyme Disease? Don't let anyone say you can't get it in the south. The CDC reports cases every year.

Sorry to hear about your dad. This post hits hard. My father is 56 and I can't imagine losing him this young. Best to you and your family.
