The offense was fantastic, but do you not remember how bad the defense was? There's a reason we lost 3 games and only one of them was somewhat on the offense.

Jesus you people are dense.

You're right. We underachieved more in 2012.

AJ was inept against Iowa. Now let's think of AJ against FSU on a national stage. You have to remember AJ was playing in whatever post season we had last year.

#15 nationally in total defense, #21 nationally in scoring defense, NFL offense. 3 losses.

So do you think our defense was better than our offense?

I think neither unit was weak enough to justify the end result.

You just called people out for posting on a topic that you yourself just posted about.

The offense was ranked 33. Thirty freaking three. If that's what it takes for our offense to be ranked 33 I would say we are running a pretty inefficient system

I am actually more amazed at how bad the offense was with those players from last year with Jennings as the QB. Just goes to show you it has nothing to do with receivers dropping the passes this year.

For LSU...not for the amount of talent that was on the field.

how bad? top 30-40 in the nation? (ETA: holy shite we had a top 20 defense)

This year the defense has been blamed for 3 of the 4 losses...and the offense is horrible...yes you people are dense.

This sort of goes to show how conditioned we've become to having BAD offenses. Our offense ranked 33rd in Total Offense last year. And before you think we just fell behind gimmick offenses, we fell behind.

Bama
Clemson
Ole Miss
Georgia
Missouri
Ohio State

and many more major conference teams.

Given the talent we obviously had last year, our total offense numbers were actually pretty damned pedestrian.

Hell, regardless of talent, we finished SEVENTH in the SEC in total offense. SEVENTH!!!!

Hell. We finished 43rd in PASSING offense!! With two thousand yard receivers and an NFL QB!!

Yeah. Our offense was pretty good last year but let's not lose our minds. COMPARED to our peers, we were pretty pedestrian.

Which is meaningless in CFB. We were a top 5 offense last year adjusting for drives, opponents, etc.

We led the nation in 3rd down %.

Mett finished 4th in Passer Efficiency

Mett finished 3rd in Yards Per Pass Attempt.

We had 2 players in the top 15 in yards per rush - Hill and Magee

Hell, the Saints have the #2 offense in the NFL right now. Anyone who's watched the NFL this year should know how misleading that stat is.

Just false. Efficiency stats have always been the most meaningful way to evaluate. We were elite in those stats
