Agree- my wife's center is 2.01 carats and the bands are another */- 1 carat. Go outside in the daylight and you guys buying super white diamonds tell me the differences between a few. You can get a nice high quality diamond without breaking the bank. Mine was 8500 for the center one 8 years ago.

To answer the OP question, not big enough, LOL. But I did buy her a Rolex a couple years ago that will hold it's value better than the ring.

Not for scoring such a lux stone at a literally unbelievable price, but for waking up every day and facing the world with your missing chromosome. so brave. and bless that woman's heart for saying "yes".

Here's what a real 1 carat, color D, flawless diamond costs, and this is a great deal.

$23k

Well frick, now I feel the need to defend myself.

I bought the diamond through a family friend that is a diamond broker in New York. I shouldn't have used the word flawless. My bad. I went and looked at the certification and its a VVS1 with an E color rating. 1.07ct.

Yall know way too much about the diamonds yall bought.

Here is what I know. It is shiny, it is expensive, according to the law the last day I owned it was the day before I asked if she would marry me.

Now I have a few dollars a month I pay on my homeowners in case she goes missing with it on her finger.

I would not worry about any diamond except the big center diamond. Having a bunch of smaller diamonds is not nearly as valuable as one big diamond. Don't fall for "total carat weight" BS the seller might tell you. Just focus on the large stone.

For clarity just stay at or above VS2 and your ok. You will not detect any flaws with the naked eye and you need a scope to detect them. Anything above this is a waste of money, in my opinion, that you could spend on size or color which is noticeable by the naked eye.

Avoid Tiffany's at all cost!!! Huge rip off. Way to expensive. That being said my wife wanted a ring from there so that is where I bought it. I'm an OT baller but I still hate it because there are better values out there.

I will never understand why people pay so much on a ring. I guess its all to keep the wife happy. When me and my wife were getting married I told her I would get her any wring she wanted. She picked a $69 dollar set from Walmart. Then I told her I would splurge and buy her a second set, she found a casual one on amazon complete set for $39. After a year or so mine was stolen by some galley hands when they went threw my locker so we got our rings tattooed on for another $60. So for a grand total of $170 bucks she has 3 different rings. Guess its good the wife doesn't care about shite like that.

It's not that hard a concept to understand but what can you really expect from someone with a ring tattoo right?

I got it tattooed because 1. I like tattoos, and 2. because 80% of the time I can't wear a ring because im working.

If only this were true. I'd miss your extensive football knowledge and the Rant would become a ghost town devoid of any intelligent football discussions.

I'm completely ignorant to this, but do diamonds have a real market like gold, silver, etc?

Is it possible to have a crash in price? My understanding is that diamonds aren't all that rare.

You can not do this at Tiffanys. I asked. The only way to cheat is to buy a used tiffanys ring or a ring from another place and put it in a tiffanys box. But, every Tiffanys ring has an id number in it's band and is registered in their data base. Tiffanys cleans jewlery for free so she should would have known it was a fake the first time she brought it in for a cleaning.
