I can give Cam props on the development of Zac. He progressed nicely and became a really nice QB. My concern is can Cam develop a scrambling QB. I don't know of any history he has with mobile QBs and i think this could be a big problem. Pocket passers have a totally different mind set that mobile QBs DO NOT have. I personally do not think a scrambling QB can be taught to be a pocket passer.

My conclusion is there is not just a problem with the QBs but the philosophy that is being taught to the QBs. Pocket passers are always thinking pass. I think this is how Cam thinks and not how our QBs we currently have think.

What do you think?

They are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole recruiting these QBs that don't fit their system.

Drew Brees is a pocket passer that looks for the pass first. He is elusive. He only scrambles when there is no other option. Pure pocket passer.

Jennings High School senior year stats
Comp...Atm.....Cmp%...yrds...avg....TD
166........272.... 61.0......1925...7.1.....19
Rushing stats
att------yds-----avg---TD
152......673-----4.4----10

this is all i could find on Harris
"Completed 178-of-329 passes for 3,172 yards with 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions as a senior ... Rushed for 1,048 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior"

I think Harris is the Dual threat we want. He just isn't going to the get the to take the wheel this year.

He is Cam's guy. Cam went and got him specifically. I would be surprised if he didn't start at the latest next year.

That's the type of QB he CAN develop... Harris MAY be that type. But Miles says NO.... Miles needs to let CAM do his fricking job and worry about clock issues...........

How many high school QBs still go under center? How many that do, do it the majority of the time? You either get a statue, a guy that throws first, but can run, a guy that runs first and can barely pass, or a guy that can do both very well.

Nearly every 4 or 5 star QB plays from the shotgun the majority of the time. If you watched Jennings in high school, he played rather well in the shotgun. Great movement in the pocket and great pocket presence. He looked pretty accurate and had good touch. He even won the Elite 11 competition in his region. I have no idea what has happened to him.

Harris was a dynamic dual threat. He passed very well (2673 yds 26 TDs as a junior which was his first year, and 3518 yds 37 TDs as a senior). He ran very well (677 yds 12 TDs as junior, 1153 yds 17 TDs as senior). He has yet to really show what he can do. If we ran our offense from the shotgun at least say 60% of the time, with a little creativity, we'd be a lot better on offense.

Randle El turned out to be a good receiver. Maybe Harris will become a great qb. This is not a QB thread as much as it is about our coaches do not seem to be on the same page as the QB ability.

I know we've heard this already. I just can't see any problem as big as this now and in our future.

I think we are moving to more shotgun. That is my honest opinion, we just don't trust the QBs enough yet to really run the offense we are moving towards.

We went and got harris for a reason. We are putting in more read option.

I just think we are giving Harris time, and decided not to force him into bad positions this year, after the Auburn debacle.
