That is true. He is, however, one of only 4 Senate Republicans that have been on the Benghazi train since Day 1, unlike what another poster implied. Those four Senate Republicans have been just as tenacious and persistent re Benghazi as Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan and Jason Chaffetz. The latter 3 are popular with one group here, while the former 4 are not. Regardless, all 7 have been on the same track of pursuit from the beginning. If Ted Cruz or Rand Paul had said the exact same thing as Graham said today, there would have been a chorus of attaboys here. Graham, for all of his deficiencies, has earned the right to make statements concerning Benghazi. A johnny-come-lately on this particular topic he is not.

I don't think he is new to the issue, and he may very well be on the correct side. My problem is that he is always on the same side of the argument (neocon side) so it's hard to discern between the truth and just the neocon coming out.

Though my overall opinion on Graham is not the same as yours (on some issues it likely is, on other issues it likely isn't), I do understand what you are saying. My intent in responding to your post was simply to make clear that he is among the best informed Senators on this particular subject, and has aggressively pursued getting all Benghazi questions answered. One can dislike the man and what he stands for, but he is, and has always been, in this matter, not a follower, but rather a leader, in the Senate side of things regarding Benghazi.

IMO, Trey Gowdy is the man. When or if he signs off that an investigation is honest...I MIGHT believe it. Even the best can go bad up there.

No matter...Obama corrupts the Constitutional process and lies like a rug. He'll get his "fundamental change", brought on by the collapse/restructuring of the former model. Might not end up being the Socialist Utopia of the which he imagines though. Unintended consequences can get out of control, when passions rage...re Ferguson. Imagine that the freedom loving Rednecks go rogue.

Interesting stuff.

Why? Serious question, I don't know if he's strong on some issues, you like how he opposes D's, the challengers are weak..

Come on. I am sure you would be a hoot to have a beer with, but you are off the reservation when it comes to politics. I am probably more hated by members of the Democratic Party than you will ever be.

Well, his challengers stunk (including reality TV coke head Thomas Ravenel).

Honestly, I don't really like the hard line politicians that are in Washington right now. There has to be people willing to compromise, and Graham has shown that he will compromise with the other side. He is also one of the leading figures on foreign policy, even if he is a hawk.

Thanks. Sounds like he could be decent. He even said that he has to take a "second look" at the report, so maybe he will change his opinion or narrow down his issues. He is probably so close to the subject that the report took him by surprise more than anyone else.
