Why do you intellectually despise Yes?

Because I despise prog rock with a passion of a thousand burning suns. I also cannot abide long, meandering songs. Tighten that shite up. We're talking about a band so pretentious that they released a double album with, technically, only one song on it broken into four movements.

I'm a firm believer in simple songs that can be reproduced by four kids in a garage. Complexity in pop music is usually a bad thing. three chords and cloud of dust. Good rock music doesn't come from the head, it comes a few feet lower.

And that's why I like Yes. For all of their pretentious doodling, their rhythm section is flat out awesome. They can groove. And Steve Howe is a god.

90s Euro House like 2 Unlimited, Snap!, Culture Beat.

Sometimes I listen to Hairnation on XM.

But my real guilty pleasure is screwed up Houston-syle rap. And I'm a middle-aged country white guy.
