Yes we know. Some people don't like festivals.

Po-boy fest wrap up:
1) Food truck cuban(Holy trucks? or soemthing?) It was pretty good, but they served it on a croissant type roll. The sandwich could've been pressed. Good sandwich all in all. No lines
2) BBQ Shrimp/ Mandinas. Mandinas filled the poboy loaf with sauteed bbq shrimp. Nothing to write home about. Nice garlic and butter flavor, but I was expecting a little more of a kick. Long line here but good traffic guards @ tent. Mandinas virgin here, maybe that's just how they do it?
3) $8 boudin balls. I almost fell into this overpriced trap, but bailed at last minute when I noticed the price. I don't care how good they are, that's an insane price tag. These guys (forgot vendor) were also doing a smothered rabbit po-boy which looked fairly decent. Someone should post if they ventured out and tried that...
4) 1/2 couchon d'lait & slaw (forgot vendor.) These guys compete @ hog for the cause)whole hog?), so I decided to give them a whirl. Great poboy & glad they were selling 1/2 portions.
Good festival. Getting there early is key, There was an insane amount of good looking women there too. Nothing like stuffing your face and chatting it up with the foxy mamas on a Sunday afternoon.
Shout out to Ale on Oak St. Great bar, good service. KW does it again.

It's a board favorite

The crowds weren't too bad this year to be honest. There were a few vendors with crazy lines but I didn't wait longer than a few minutes anywhere. Had the Wayfare pastrami, the Crabby jack duck, and Blue Oak 15 hour brisket. All of them were good

I noticed both JacquesImo's & Crabby Jacks doing duck po-boys. CJ's tent was on the same block @ Jaq's. Doesn't Chef Jacq own both establishments? Was this the same po-boy?

Eh, I'm not writing home about it

I was tempted to get the smothered rabbit but by that time I was already stuffed
Another thing I tried was a free sample of "Fiya Water" Creole BBQ sauce. They were selling it for $8/bottle. I should've bought some.

The soft shell crab tempura poboy from Ninja was my favorite. The soft shell was full of crabmeat and the spicy mayo is delicious.

had a crabby jack duck poboy..hate festival food
pay half price for 1/4 the size of an actual crabby jack poboy with 1/8 the meat portion of one.
still pretty good but I would rather just go to Crabby Jacks and get a king size Duck, or Shrimp poboy and stuff my face.

No really though, worst bar in Orleans Parish if I had to pick one.

Never even thought about it this year. Last year I was driving back into town on River Road and it was a complete and utter shite show.

I had the smothered rabbit Poboy. It was really good. The red cabbage sauerkraut on it was awesome. But I agree, $8 boudin balls are ridiculous

It's not the worst bar in town.
I grabbed the pork belly ruben from Boucherie. It was pretty good.
They did a good job extending the festival space. They had opened up Leonidas for a few blocks that helped with congestion.
My biggest gripe with Po-Boy Fest is the lack of organization. It would be nice if you could find a specific booth without having to walk around at random.

Mrs Debaser and I were in attendance. Boucherie pork belly Reuban, BBQ Shrimp PB, and some other pulled pork with slaw PB. All of them were good to guite good. The lines for GW Fins and Parkway were crazy. We spent time in Ale and Maple Leaf. Both were fine by me. Ale was obviously a lot cleaner and had a clean bathroom for the wife.
I parked at Claiborne and took the streetcar there, but service was cut off at 4, so I had to hoof it back. I should have anticipated NOLA RTA jackassery.
