Just finished Justified season 2, and I think I'm done with it.

My three favorite shows of all time and in order are Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Wire so I think I have good taste. I gave Justified a chance because I keep hearing it's a great show. However, the problem is that none of the characters is really likable. I did root for Boyd at one point coming out of prison, but he went back to his old ways.
1. Raylan - never had the courage to call out Winona's BS and stand up to this woman.
2. Boyd-bad guy struggling to turn to good guy was interesting. But he went back to his old ways so that transformation period was a waste of time. Damn, I was wishing to see him fight crimes and solve problems with his bible verses and congregation. Im not a religious person but that would be refreshing..lol.
3. Winona-irritating character. Who can marry to the constant nagging and undermining? She constantly interrupts Raylan talking and never acts rationally.
4. Ava-she's okay, but no character development.
Minor character:
1. Raylan's father - scumbag thief. How did Raylan turned out OK with this guy as a father?
2. Raylan's coworkers-sharpshooter, black chick, Art - we don't know anything about these characters besides that they work with Raylan.
3. Rest of the crowders - who cares
4. Mags-shrewd woman. Glad she died.
5. Mags sons-idiots except Doyle
I didn't like season 2's ending. We got Raylan going into a hornet's nest. Winona pleads with Art to help him. Art refuses saying something along the line that you can't change people. But when the sh*t hits the fan, Art and his team came in out of nowhere to save Raylan. This is cheesy and a cheap trick that big budget movies do. The trick is that they set up a "troubling or dangerous situation" that's inevitable with no way out. Then out of nowhere, boom...magic...something happens or someone comes in to save the day. On screen, when this happens it feels good, but it hurts the writing.
Also, Ava was told many times to stay in the basement by Boyd and Boyd's men. Of course, she doesn't listen and ends up getting shot in the chest by Dickie during all the shooting. As expected, Boyd turned into a white knight threatening that guy who didn't keep her in the basement. Boyd then proceeds to threaten doctor's life if he didn't save Ava. Who's fault was all of this Boyd? The angle of overprotective man in regards to his woman gets old. We've seen it many times before.
In summary, just a cop vs robber show in country setting with a bunch of unlikeable characters.

HeadChange,
can't wait for GoT season 5. Only thing I'm afraid is that they'll but out a lot of stuff from the books.

Raylan- the most badass character
Boyd- charismatic at worst
Winona-phased out
Ava-No character development? guess you missed a few episodes, but she defintely grows leaps and bounds throughout the show
Arlo Givens-worth watching for his relationship with father, gets better
Tim and Art- awesome hilarious characters
Maybe you're not into Elmore Leonard.

That happens almost every episode. I like the show, but I can understand how its wholly unbelievable scenarios would turn some off.
I know someone else who watched it for a while and, after a particularly cartoonish scene, turned it off mid-show and quit it.

Winona-irritating character.
Yeah, but she is fine.

He was never a good guy. Not really. If he had you fooled, it's okay. Boyd Crowder will do that.

Based soley on the thread title, I can't bring myself to even argue how wrong I think the rest of the OP's points are.
