So, I have noticed from years on the OT that people on the internet are about 95% d-bags. Why? Do you think it is funny to ruin people's lives? Laugh about a dead pet? Kid with cancer, giggle?
What makes otherwise decent people be complete sociopaths on the WWW? Anonymity? All of a sudden you are a badass? I don't get the tendency to be cruel? I am trying to understand the mentality behind it.
Kindness for others is weak? Everyday I see people on here degrade others. Why? Debate is healthy. Tearing people down is just bullying. Sorry, I like this site, but sometimes I wonder. I feel like if I met these people face to face, they wouldn't be so cruel.

I completely agree with you, Liz. It's one thing to joke around and have some playful banter with people. But I've noticed over the years that people have become bigger assholes within their anonymity. It makes me sad to see where society goes with this.

Let me tell you a little something about the world. It's harsh and it's rough and it eats people like you for breakfast. Get thick skin, learn to take a punch and roll with it, learn to fight all manner of battles from basic fist fights to chess games.
There's only one truth in this world and that's that you are what you allow yourself to be. You can blame the world, you can blame the environment, you can blame your peers or your enemies, but in the end the blame rests solely with you.
Face the world and you can conqueror it, back down and it will conquer you.
You can try and hope and believe the world is a good place full of hope where people can be good if everyone just strives for it, but that bullshite pipe dream will only get you high for so long. You have to face reality that the strong survive and weak die. And strength is not measured in muscle.
If you have learned anything from my post it should be this:
