No tattoos, no extra piercings. I am aware that my car is typically "trashy", but I'm just a boring accountant who likes a vehicle with horsepower.

Liz, I lived in Naples from '89 to '94, it's great to go to the beach on New Years Day.

Generally speaking, the snowbirds in Lee and Collier County are more from the midwest than the NE. At least that is what I thought when I lived there.

Back then, Estero was a sleepy little place, a friend of mine lived on the Estero River.

When I lived there, there was a large group of Louisiana transplants, 40-50 people, that would go to a sportsbar on 41 in South Ft Myers for the LSU and Saints games. With the passage of time i forgot the name of the place.

Enjoy.

Florida. The more north you go, the more southern it gets.

I used to go down there for business. Flying out of there is like boarding a 150 person hearse. It take forever to board a plane there because everyone is in a damn wheelchair, they say anyone who needs extra time can board and 40 wheelchairs roll up.

Up until about a year ago I lived in Bonita Springs which is between Estero and Naples. I liked it there. Plenty of good restaurants, shopping, golf and fishing. You must work for Hertz. Their new corporate offices will be about a mile or two from where I lived in Bonita. Hwy 41 isn’t bad until you get north of Estero. They were widening it when I lived there and it may even be finished by now. Can’t help with an LSU viewing spot in Naples. I used to go to Big Als or Lansdownee as both were short walks from my condo rental. Warning Lansdowne is a big Boston Red Sox hangout but they have several TVs and a nice patio bar.

Good luck. Enjoy exploring different placing and things to do.

You are observant. Finding young professional night life of any quality (according to my daughters) you will maybe need to occasionally gravitate to South Tampa. Florida down the peninsula, is not at all like the Panhandle and the people are a weird mix of midwesterners and northeasterners. Good luck finding a native born Floridian, several generations deep. Sometimes I get somebody from Chicago trying to tell me they are native Floridians (even as I listen to their obvious accent). I finally get it out of them that their parents moved here when they were kids.

Summers in Sarasota are milder than summers in Louisiana. It's not even close.
Add Bradenton to that statement. It's true. As a home-grown New Orleanian, I have to say I enjoy the daily offshore breezes in the morning and evening. Cools things down. Moved here in 2006 - I was a little surprised that summertime rains aren't as frequent or as heavy as I had expected before coming here. However, this summer the long-termers say the pattern reverted to a much more frequent and heavy rain pattern, as in days of old.

I have lived n Ft Myers for 19 years, it is truly Paradise, very clean, the 5% minorities do not think the world owes them everything, nice beaches! great Golf, nice Arts and Theatre.

Do you play golf?? If you need anything just ask. Enjoy

Are you here for Hertz??

Yep, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse to move somewhere where the weather is ideal for me. I spent today at Vanderbilt Beach. It was great. Getting a tan in November is awesome. I don't golf, but I did see a girl paddle boarding, which I enjoy, so I may get one! I will be moving to N. Naples on 12/1 (currently in Coconut Point in a hotel). So far, I am enjoying it!

Actually we are on the gulf so get nice breezes during the summer, still hot but you have heat, cold and overcast.
The quality of life is much better than La., the main reason.....money is put back not the community.

One of my favorite places on the Gulf Coast.

meh, matter of opinion, I lived in south FL for years, granted, on the east coast, so much fake and pretense, and transients, I'd take La, warts and all
