Seriously, I understand how you challenged the perception of the majority of posters. Your perspective was the most realistic, in my view. The reply was nothing personal, just in the flow of the conversation.

However, if you read this thread, many posters act like you just lost to some community college. ODU's last decade of basketball has to take no backseat to LSU with respect to success, and many p5 fans just assume that the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the names on the back.........

And they're dumb for doing that. I think it has a lot to do with viewing all sports through football. A lot of LSU fans don't follow college basketball outside of LSU and the SEC, so they don't know much about the "smaller" schools. I don't know a ton about "smaller" schools. And I think this has a lot to do with the fact that Old Dominion isn't exactly a football powerhouse. I think if we lost to, say, USC, I think fans would take it a little bit better than if we lost to y'all, based purely off of name recognition, even though Old D is a much better team than that shite show in Los Angeles.
