No argument there. Ag isn't the only industry which illegals keep the price way down however.
And let's not forget that states are frequently accomplices in this, using companies with known illegal hiring practices to maintain their roads and government buildings.

I was never one to bitch much about illegals in the first place, so I don't feel obligated to answer. I was largely fine with them being used to keep prices down. I'm much more inclined to focus on the millions of worthless citizens sucking off the government tit with no work ethic than illegals busting their asses for pennies.

I was literally in an office of one of my customers late yesterday when a wife of an illegal came in to ask for help filling out an I-129 form. He would not hire her husband until he had resident status or a working visa.
There is a man power shortage here, but many of my customers will not hire illegals and we have 600 Hondurans living on our tax dollars at the Border patrol facility in Artesia.
Joke around town was how big would the line be after Obama signs the EO so they could hire hands?

I can promise you that many current illegals will turn to the govt tit if given the chance. Many are not the work horses they are portrayed as.

So these illegals have the option of getting the green card and claiming an income that guarantees the Earned Income Credit and TADA! More worthless citizens sucking off the government tit that can still go back to getting paid under the table for $30 a day while the taxpayers get to put them up in Section 8 with a phone, ebt card, etc.

Your plan requires the punishment of every single person who hires or has ever hired illegal immigrants. I challenge you to find a single law which is enforced that absolutely.
The vast majority of EVERY TYPE OF CRIME ends up being unsolved, and you want to devote resources to eliminating a crime which not only requires investigation but lacks self-reporting of any kind?

But nothing will work unless you can control who does or does not come into your country.
PERIOD.
I really don't know how this can be argued against.
Its all useless banter until a better control of our borders is achieved. My point was you COULD scare most folks away from hiring with insane punishments.
My point. Not that it would ever happen but hell make it 100K or 500K. Stops much of the flow without a single border guard if no work is around.
But nothing will work unless you can control who does or does not come into your country.

A sheriff from a small Arizona town 70 miles from the border said that his officers have BEEN raiding what he calls a large cottage industry of providing false SS#'s, fake drivers licenses, fake receipts for apt rentals, etc. All for a fee of $50-$75. He expects a flood of new illegals & all will soon be "legal" under the provisions of Obama's EO. He laughed at the idea that the border was secured.He also added that the local school system is going bankrupt trying to keep up with all new students, none to very few who speak English & have not put anything into the system to pay for all this.
