Anyone ever been to one? They are having one tomorrow from 7-9am. They have an item my wife wants for Christmas, but I'm not sure if these events are like Black Friday where you have to get there hours early, or not.

Also, is there usually a line at 7am, do they give out tickets for the popular items so you know you will get one?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been, yes there will be a line. Got there 30 minutes before and was like number 100 in line.

No they don't give tickets, first come first serve.

Definitely.

Sam's in BR wasn't always shitty with Popeye's & Burger King esque service like it is now...I hope Costco doesn't deteriorate like Sam's over time.

Sam's has a few things that I like to purchase that Costco doesn't have, and vice versa with Costco.

Did it last year to get a 70" smart tv for $999.00. Originally $1800.00. Got there an hour early and there was a lot of people in line ahead of me. It was a Sunday night last year. A lot of people were in line for $99.00 Iphone 5s. They went through the line ahead of time and checked everyone's Sams cards and handed out coupons for the phones only. It was a mad dash for the Tvs when they opened up. They had some of them in the front of the store and those got taken quickly. Thought I was out of luck but some women I met in line knew I was there for that TV and knew where the rest were that they didn't put in the front and stood by one for me until I found them. It was a good deal. I will be there Sat morning for a few items.

I mean, it wasn't a blast but I saved $800.00 on a TV I was already going to buy. It was worth it to me.

It all comes down to this. What is your dignity worth?

Apparently some people are willing to run like an idiot and push/shove for $800. Me, not so much. Sad commentary on our society frankly.

How much more is a VIP membership over a business?

Thanks. My wife and I were going to upgrade phones soon anyway. I'll stand in line to save $400.

Yes, they usually hand out tickets to people in line for the "hot" items with limited quantities.
