Bored at work and came across one I didn't know about:
"In 1962, Bob Buhl went 0 for 70 at the plate with the Cubs. The worst single-season batting performance in major league history"
Rough year at the plate --(although he was a pitcher)

Hoyt Wilhelm hits a homerun in his first at bat, played 20 years and never hit another homerun, and still made the HOF.

On September 3, 1908, while on first base, Herman "Germany" Schaefer of the Detroit Tigers stole second base, then ran in reverse and stole first base, then stole second base again! Germany remains the only player ever to steal second base twice in the same base-running series. Before 1920, there was no official rule that you couldn't steal bases in reverse order.

Miami Marlins are the only team with 4 infielders to have 25 hrs in a single season. They all had over 30 except Cantu who had 29...
Miami Marlins are the only team to ever go 20 games under .500 and make it back over .500
Marlins are only team to have 4 rookie starters with 10 or more wins.

In the 1880's, Guy Hecker of the Louisville club in the American Association pitched one of only two no-hitter's in that league's history, won the batting title in another season, and played an entire game at first base with zero fielding chances.

1. The legendary Duane Kuiper
Kuiper, a secondbaseman, is the all-time record holder for MOST at-bats with ONLY one career home run (he hit it off Steve Stone).
He played in 1057 games between 1974-1985, coming to bat 3.379 times, and hit exactly ONE homer, in 1977.
2. Joel Youngblood- 2 hits, 2 different teams, ONE DAY!
(copied from Wikipedia)
On August 4, 1982, Youngblood became the only player in history to get hits for two different teams in two different cities on the same day. After Youngblood had driven in two runs with a single in the third inning for the Mets in an afternoon game at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs, he was replaced in center field by Mookie Wilson, and traded to the Montreal Expos for a player to be named later (On August 16, the Expos sent Tom Gorman to the Mets to complete the deal). Youngblood rushed to Philadelphia in order to be with his new team, and hit a seventh-inning single. Interestingly, the two pitchers he hit safely against, Ferguson Jenkins of the Cubs and Steve Carlton of the Philadelphia Phillies, are both in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The stories about Germany Schaefer in The Glory of our Times are incredible. All of the other players told the funniest stories about him.

In 1999 Fernando Tatis set the record for most RBI in an inning (8). He did so by hitting two a grand slams in the inning which he also is the only player to do so.

in 1973 Toby Harrah played an entire double header at SHORTSTOP w/o a single fielding chance
