Other than the Thursday Night Blues Jam at Phil Brady's, what are some other regular open mic nights and jam sessions in the Baton Rouge area that musicians are free to come and participate in?

My goal is to have this thread create a full list in the OP which can get stickied as a resource for all of the musicians on this board who want to start playing in front of people or are just looking for a good way to support the local music scene.

*Wednesday 11/26 is songwriters night at Chelsea's LINK, an original artists open mic night.

Can you post what night of the week and/or weeks out of the month these events occur? I want to keep the OP updated and correct.

I'm not trying to make a long list, just a complete one. Doesn't Boudreax & Thibidaux's do an open mic night during the week? Does the Station? Roux House? Tabby's?

Already a long and comprhensive list it seems. You might wanna put it all in an xcel document because its really confusing. Will help posters to see the exact times that theres an open mic and so they dont coincide with one another

Yeah I was going to say I'm pretty sure Boudreaux's and Thibodeaux's has one. I seem to remember seeing some shitty acoustic guitar player on the balcony at some point in the last several months.

Tabby's doesn't exist anymore, but Blues Room so far as I know doesn't have an open mic night.

I know Northgate Tavern/The Library at least used to have one. Can't speak for now.

All the good jam sessions in BR are done behind closed doors at the Cottages or in Garden District bungalows

I can speak for this one as I often host a jam session in the middle of the week (usually on Tuesday or Wednesday), but I'm looking for bars that do so. I feel like I need to get some real practice singing and playing my original music in front of people before my band starts gigging.

Actually, no. The tiers last night reminded me of that thread complaining about the lack of passion for BR singer/songwriter nights and open mics. I thought it might be a good idea to put all of the information on open mics in one place so that this forum, which hosts many of BR's most passionate music enthusiasts could be more aware about what opportunities are out there not only to hear original music, but also to participate and perform their original music in front of people.

I'm just trying to do my part to support the music scene in this town.
