It's an American car. Look elsewhere, preferably Japan.

Unibody, front-wheel drive standard, available all-wheel drive. Build quality so-so, resale value not good. Kind of a neutered vehicle. Not a serious off-road vehicle, not ergonomically efficient, not particularly efficient, certainly not aesthetically pleasing. In summation, it is a bunch of "nots".

Yawn.

Unremarkable, exactly.

What exactly are you trying to do with this vehicle? There are much better choices for probably anything/everything you can describe.

Complete redesign coming for the '16 MY, this will further depreciate Fifth Generation Explorers.

My company car.

Drives decent, roomy for our family of 5.

I don't like the seats front seats, quite uncomfortable for long trips. The A /C modulates the engine pretty bad at times and this is my third one in 4 years. Happens in all my colleagues as well and some complain that it has shut their engine off it bogged down so bad Braking system is ok. Fine for being a company vehicle but I wouldn't buy one myself.

Eta: We all pray for the day they give us another choice.
