I know most of yall aren't wwl fans or Geric fans, but this article has a few revelations.

WWL article

quote:

Saints Safety Kenny Vaccaro started a nice firestorm after the Saints loss to the Bengals Sunday. "I came last year as a rookie and the team is different, just a different vibe... I don’t know if it hurts when you lose guys that have been together for so long. Something changed,” Vaccaro, said clearly frustrated by the Saints 4 and 6 record, generally speaks his mind when asked a question.

quote:

Linebacker Curtis Lofton disagreed with the time and place of Vaccaro’s comments, "I think when you express your frustration you don't express it in the media, you keep that in house.”

There's a lack of vocal and enforcement leadership on this team

I blame Juneyah

Payton did state that KV was one of the few who played hard the entire game, so maybe there is something to this. it definietly looks like something is amiss when even the perpetual cheerleader, Brees, is sullen on the sidelines the entire game.

Well I guess we thought KV would step into that role. Instead he's not doing anything to change the "vibe" and be a leader.

He isn't a vocal leader. Players are fighting for a leader to step up in the locker room right now (Vaccaro statement shows that). Two of those guys left this season (Harper and Jenkins). Then you add injuries on top of it. Not looking good for the defense going forward.

Hell, Corey White said he knew the game was over after the Bengals scored with 14 minutes left in the game . That right there should tell you something!

False. He is unquestionably the vocal leader of the defense.

He's talking about Junior.

And I just don't see Junior as the defensive leader. To be honest, we haven't had one on defense since Vilma left. Lofton is the leader they look too, but he just isn't that "leader" type. Jordan could be, but he hasn't stepped into that role for some reason. I was hopining Byrd would be, but that didn't work out either. Let's admit, since the Super Bowl, we've lost Fujita, Vilma, Greer, Sharper, Harper, Will Smith, and Jenkins. That's a lot starters/leaders to replace.

You haven't been on the sidelines or locker room to know this. Why hasn't he said anything yet. Lofton is the vocal captain

What do you mean said anything yet? I'm not talking about to the media. I'm talking about behind closed doors. I can tell you Junior has the respect from that locker room. He was voted a captain for a reason.

I agree with Vaccaro something has changed with this team. In years past under Payton, we've consistently won close games. This year it has been a completely different story

Hard to disagree with this, especially considering he's missed more tackles in single games this year than he has all last season.

They're also not using him in quite the same way they did last year.
