Learning to Eat Soup with a Knife: Counterinsurgency Lessons in Malaya in Vietnam. by John Nagl.
Anyone in the OT ever read this?
I'm currently reading this novel. Its written about how a failure to adopt tactics by the U.S. Army is what caused the failure in Vietnam. Its often said that the military never lost a battle in Nam. This is technically true but the book talks about upper Army officers quashing and ignoring advice from junior officers, the Marine Corps, the British and even politicians about how to effectively fight insurgency wars. Its a pretty good and interesting read.
I accidentally started the topic without starting a post. I expect to see some criticism when I press "Submit"

This like a metaphor for posting on the OT?

Great thread. I am going to take a picture and make it my Christmas card this year.

Oprah's Book Club selection from August '08. I reconciled with my dad after not speaking for 26 years after reading it. Being made into a movie starring Diane Keaton and Gene Jackman.

Fixed it. I deserve every bit of criticism and "OP is a ****" gifs. :spank:
