Its a lot of work and mess for 1 doz. I would just eat them at rest if I was only doing a doz.

See I really don't see it that way. Shuck a dozen oysters, pretty easy. Make the sauce, pretty easy. I kinda like doing "intricate" cooking when I have the house to myself. Insert "always alone" meme here.

I bought 24 ceramic ramekins that were oval shaped a while back and they've been great for baking oysters.
