If she would've done this grandstanding against Obamacare like her constituents wanted, she probably wouldn't need a runoff.[/quote

Funny thing is, all that would have required was a simple 'no' vote from our wonderful "independent blue dog." No grandstanding necessary. Oh well.

What's really funny is that she essentially gave up her career and her job to be THE ONE AND DECIDING VOTE on Odumbf*ckCare, and yet she couldn't get ONE more Democrat to vote for her lame Fail Mary Cassidy Keystone Solution bill attempt.

She literally stopped going to town hall meetings when it became abundantly clear that the people of Louisiana wanted no part of Odumbf*ckCare and she even took her phones off the hook so that she didn't need to listen to her constituents simply trying to voice their opinions.

Now that is f*cking funny - I don't care who you are.

Once she loses, she'll drop that little pretense with the swiftness. I doubt she'll ever see New Orleans again with the exception of attending Moon's funeral.

She'll try to run again. You apparently have no idea how difficult it is to get a pig away from the trough.

This time, though, she'll probably buy a relatively cheap house in Orleans Parish. Probably around "her people." She'll never be there, but she'll put up the pretense.

Why is Mary hanging on? quote: Cuz the people of Louisiana decided she should be the run-off? thank you for the literalist, non-responsive answer. And, your response isn't really accurate. The decisions of the people of Louisiana resulted in a run-off. but only 43% decided Mary should be in the picture. And it's pretty clear even that losing number is faltering. we'll make sure to page you again next time we need a stupid pedantic response. happy wednesday.

In 2002 the top three Republicans got 51% in the first election and she won with 51%. She's holding on to that.

I spoke with a woman who works for Sherrod Brown who said Mary does so much for Louisiana as opposed to Vitter especially and with the right money and push it's doable given the low turnout. But bc of the makeup of the Senate now as opposed to 2002 the party abandoned her. They're not spending money so she's toast.

Mmm...I don't know. That K Street money has got to be an awfully alluring consolation prize.

She's been getting that K Street money FOR YEARS.

Why do you think her lawyer husband became a real estate agent in D.C.? Who do you think his clients are?

Do you really think that she could afford a $2.5 million mansion on $170,000/year?

She knew she could make the runoff so she didn't have to shell out the millions to Morial's LIFE PAC to get out the multiple voters and the dead voters in the primary.

She didn't buy the home for $2.5 million. She built and bought the land in the late 90s when DC was not prime real estate. Her mortgage is $500k and her husband is a successful real estate agent.

I know. It's remarkable how quickly he went from being a two-bit Monroe, La. insurance defense attorney to a high powered DC real-estate power broker, seemingly overnight.

Dude must have mad skilzzz.

It's not the ACA. It's turnout. She would have lost in 2008 but for the Obama factor and lost in 2002 but for the Dem push and lost in 1996 but for the kook. A huge turnout could get her the win but that's not happening

Sweet justice the way that she ignored her constituents in order to serve Obama and the Democrat Party.

After her service to them, she called to them for one more vote to help her maintain her "clout" charade. What does the Democrat Party do to show gratitude?

His website says he's been in the business since 2002. Did he struggle in the first few years? When were they able to afford the new house?

I don't begrudge the guy (and I also don't think or suggest it's the most scuzzy thing in the world), but I also get what's up here.
