(other than bragging rights & maybe a little recruiting help???)

keep seeing posts about how we'll beat aTm, etc...
Dandy Scott even said that an aTm win & a decent bowl win would be just what the doctor ordered.
I know a bunch of folks that feel that same way.

Isn't the bigger question about the direction of the program? We are where we are at this point & the woes are real.
Is not the only real question to ask whether Miles is the man to right the ship?
Quarterback play be damned....there are numerous holes on this team & most can see that.

So many LSU fans can't see the forest through the trees or don't want to accept reality.
A win vs aTm & bowl win is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Keeps my Aggie coworkers from getting excited and shouting "WHOOP!" all the time. Generally, them losing is a good thing.

Contextually, not much if Jennings plays the whole game and we win. However, if Harris plays then the result of this game could be huge - for good or for bad, depending on Harris' play.

momentum going into a bowl game? gain confidence in the team? see improvement?

are you so miserable that you can't see the good in a win anymore?

The forest is ever changing though..

Beating aTm is big.
This year has been strange because we looked BAD against State and Auburn, but then shored up the defense and looked like world beaters against Ole Miss (at least defensively).
The Alabama loss (though devestating) could have subconciously re-enforced the idea that the program was heading in the right direction.
An Arkansas shutout later, and a lot of us (me included) are not quite as hopeful about the future.
Shrugging off the bama hangover and dominating Texas A&M will go a long way with the fan base.
Another loss to a bad team will give more steam to the "we need a big change" crowd.
I think it's a big game in the history of the program.
National perception, fan support, momentum for next season, and to a degree, recruiting, are all very inter woven with this game.

I love the attitude of this board. A win means nothing but a loss means the sky is falling. We are in the middle of the best stretch of football in LSU history (2001-present) and people can't enjoy it.

Look, no one thinks the loss last weekend was pretty or that we have great QB play this year. But this team has done a lot of things well, had a couple of nice victories and provided some great moments this season. This is supposed to be fun. Relax and enjoy it.

Some thought on this post

1. People have just been waiting on a bad year to jump on this "direction of a program" BS. We followed a 13-1 year with two 10-3 years, and people just have been begging for Les to have a year that is objectively bad so they can say the program is going no where. Lots of great teams have trouble replacing elite QBS, but we like o compare ourselves to one and only one.

2. it SHOULD bring you some kind of happiness to see LSU win a game. Isn't that what its all about?

3. Momentum into next season

4. Big deal with recruiting considering we are battling for some major recruits with A&M.

5. It will accomplish about as much as a win over Akransas would have. Not like we lost out on a spot in the college playoffs because of losing to Arkansas.

Disagree. A loss makes things worse and bolsters our one of our two biggest recruiting rivals.

I would prefer a win to a loss.

But at this point, I really don't care. This season is over.

Apart from QB play and our passing game, what problems are you referring to?

Ironically, this probably applies to you.

ETA: Oh, and what's your point, that we shouldn't bother winning our next game?. . . Think about how stupid that is.

It makes things better than a loss would

The level depends on the way in which we play. A&M has a terrible run D(terrible passing as well) and I fully expect to see the same O we have seen all year. If we win a close ugly one, I'll be glad for the win, but how do you get excited for the future with that? Everyone knows we need to change except Miles and he's the only one who matters. If we come out, even if it's with Jennings, and throw some different sets and run different routes, many will be thrilled about what the future will bring. We don't need to run a spread O to succeed on O. We don't need to consistently throw more than we run. We just need to be able to attack a D if the running game is stuffed. We need to be able to make adjustments. As of now, I don't see how anyone could have faith in this.

Another year of bragging rights living here in Aggie country. Looking forward to it.
