After watching Mettenberger carve up the Steelers last night......

it reminded me of how much talent we actually had last year. Blue, Beckham Jr., Landry, Hill all starting in the NFL. You would think with that talent level we had a great year. Most NCAA teams would die to have one or two guys that good in their starting lineup.

How many of our defensive guys from last season had great games in the NFL on Sunday/Monday?
The games we lost:
at Georgia 44-41. 41 points should win any game.
at Ole Miss 27-24. Mett throws 3 picks
at Bama 38-17. underachieved in this one.
Point is our 3 losses we gave up 44, 27, and 38 pts. Our offense was great last year but our defense was still learning after the departure of Mingo, Montgomery, Reid, Simon, etc.

Just think, we likely would have beat Ole Miss last year had Mettenburger not thrown 3 picks in the first half.

Offense didn't
Defense was not quite as talented
Offense cost LSU Ole Miss game or play calling trying to throw into triple coverage and all the first half picks and they still almost pulled it out
Bama defense shut LSU down pretty good in second half

FWIW, Wright plays quite a bit for Cinci, too.
For everyone calling for Cam's head, asking why any recruit would ever come here - Just look at the NFL's crop from a single year from LSU. Hell, LSU is even super-relevant in Fantasy right now.

the picks were brutal, no doubt about it. but it is also true that the D could not get off teh field to save its life in the second half.

Offensively we had a great year, but defensively we weren't the greatest. Kinda sucks, of all years to have an average defense too.
